Głobikowa (Dinosaurs)

In Głobikowa, next to “Rozdzielnia wiatrów” hostel and 20-meter-high viewing tower (where one can observe Tatra Mountains during good visibility) a “JuraPark” is being constructed. Two dinosaurs have already been put in place: roaring and illuminated diplodocus (weight: 4 tons, dimensions: 15m long, 5m tall, 6m wide) and triceratops (dimensions: 5m long, 2m high).

Iwkowa – Dobrociesz, (Szlak Śliwki – Prune Route)

Wooden Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Iwkowa is located on a Małopolska wooden architecture route. But Iwkowa is also famous for the annual ‘Feast of the Prune’, and is located on a unique trail – Prune Route

Lusławice (Arians, Jacek Malczewski and Penderecki, the composer)

In the years 1560 – 1664 Lusławice was one of the most important Arians center (Polish Brethren), created by Achacy Taszycki. In 19th century manor in Lusławice, between 1923 and 1926, lived an outstanding Polish artist - painter Jacek Malczewski. After the World War Two abandoned manor turned to ruin. In 1976 it became the property of composer, professor Krzysztof Penderecki, who lives in a renovated manor until today.

Mała (Christ the King Monument)

In 1937 in the village of Mała Christ the King Monument, patterned after the one in Rio de Janerio, was erected.

Przecław, Rzemień i Wiewiórka (former residences of Tarnowscy family)

Wiewiórka – ruins of the brick manor-house – favourite residence of hetman Jan Tarnowski. Przecław – it’s a castle of Mikołaj Rej’s descendants, which for only a short period of time (presumably in the years 1654 – 1668) belonged to Tarnowscy family. Rzemień – a residential tower (a type of fortified chivalric residence, popular in the Middle Ages) that was built probably in the middle of the 15th century for Tarnowscy family in Late-Gothic style.

Pustków (Death Hill, V-missile base and SS military training ground)

During the WW II there was a massive SS military training ground “Truppen-Übungsplatz Dębica” (it was 25km long and 20km wide, located between Brzeźnica, Sędziszów and Dębica – Mielec railway line) and experimental V-1 and V-2 rockets base.

Radomyśl Wielki (a plane on the market square)

On the market square in Radomyśl Wielki, by the road from Tarnów to Mielec, on a socle stands an M-2 plane. It is the prototype worked up and built in 1956 in PZL-WSK factory in Mielec.

Smarżowa (Home town of Jakub Szela)

Smarżowa is the birthplace of Jakub Szela (born in 1787), who was the leader of the peasant rebellion in 1846. Over the time Jakub Szela became a legend. Not only was he an interesting object for historians but also writers and poets at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. Szela is present in Stanisław Wyspiański's „Wesele”. Stefan Żeromski devoted him his drama - „Turoń”.

Stępina Cieszyna (Hitler’s Bunker)

Between the villages of Stępina and Cieszyna an interesting fortification built by Nazis in the years 1940-1941 is located. It’s the biggest system of rail bunkers and one of the two preserved in Poland.

Wierzchosławice (Witos, the birthplace of agrarian movement, water and woods)

Dwudniaki – one of the most popular vacation spot with water activities near Tarnów;
Radłów woods surrounding Dwudniaki – one of the most popular places for mushroom picking;
Three-kilometer-long walking path through the forests between Wierzchosławice and Dwudniaki – one of the most popular walking paths in Tarnów region;
