Currency exchange

The currency of Poland is the Polish złoty <pronounced (zlô′tē)>.
One złoty is subdivided into 100 groszes <pronounced (grôsh)>.

Polish złoty banknotes come in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500.

All convertible currencies can be easily exchanged for the zloty at numerous currency exchange counters (kantor) or banks. The kantors offer more favorable exchange rate than the banks and are not allowed to charge any commission.

It is, however, advisable to compare the offers. In Tarnów, the kantors are located in shopping centers and in the city center.

All major credit and debit cards are widely accepted countrywide. And you can also withdraw cash from the ATMs spread all around the city.
