With its rolling hills and quaint villages, Southern Poland is home to a scattering of historic wooden manors and inns that have weathered centuries of change.

Manor in Dołęga – a testament to rural nobility and wartime courage situated just over 70 kilometers east of Kraków in the village of Dołęga, this 19th-century manor is one of the few wooden estates in Poland preserved with its original furnishings.

Built in 1845, it exemplifies the modest elegance of the Polish nobility class. Its low-slung, shingled roof, wrap-around veranda, and broad, tree-lined park evoke a slower, pastoral way of life.
